About Us

Frequency Finder has been developed by a consortium of radio broadcasters comprising members of the Radio Broadcasters Association ( mainly commercial operators), Radio New Zealand, Iwi broadcasters and a number of independent AM and FM stations.

Our purpose is to help radio listeners find their favourite stations during a period of change. Frequency Finder will be maintained as an accurate source of frequencies across NZ in the years ahead.

Between now and April 2011 a significant number of stations will be changing their frequencies. This is a legal requirement of the Government to bring our FM broadcasting framework into line with international standards. In total there will be around 250 changes across the whole of New Zealand – that's around a third of frequencies.

Most of the changes are designed to ensure that your reception is clear and interference free.

These changes affect FM stations only – there are no changes to AM licences.
